The premier forum for shale gas and tight oil production for Canada
Welcome to the Canadian Shale Production 2021 Exhibition and Conference where leading Exploration & Production companies will meet with service providers in Calgary, Alberta to explore the next generation of new technologies and techniques for use in oil and gas production across the region.
As the largest shale gas and tight oil region in Canada, operators across the Montney & Duvernay are looking for new ways to navigate through the oil and gas market in a post-pandemic world. By 2035, the Canada Energy Regulator (CER) expects shale gas resources to represent 80 percent of Canada’s total natural gas production with the majority of growth over the period coming from the Montney as production reaches 10.1 Bcf/d. With much of the Montney & Duvernay region having high fracture gradients resulting in higher breakdown pressures, operators are looking for low-cost solutions in generating higher treating pressures in order to effectively stimulate wells.
New focus on cost-reduction and production optimization strategies are now leading the way across Western Canada as operational improvements will be required in all formations in the region particularly where they are multistage fractured and artificial lift technologies are employed for production enhancement. With production on a consistent rise, the region has proved to be prolific as shale and tight oil and gas development with horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing across Alberta & BC production has doubled over the last decade.
The key focus for this year’s Canadian Shale Production 2021 conference will be “Shale Gas & Tight Oil Production Optimization Strategies” and the objective will be to bring shale operators and service companies together with leading engineers to collaborate and examine end-user case studies, innovative technologies and production know-how, and address the current market challenges in shale gas and tight oil production for the region.
Key topics on this year’s agenda include:
- Making an economic assessment for shale gas and tight oil production
- Shale gas and tight oil geology, geophysics, and reservoir fundamentals
- Reducing operational costs and optimizing production with latest techniques
- New technological advances and technical know-how in shale production
- Maximizing well reliabilities across longer and multistage horizontal wells
- End-user operator case studies and developing a successful program
This exhibition and conference will provide a forum for all stakeholders from oil and gas equipment manufacturers and contractors, to well servicing companies and major E&Ps, to network and build cross-market relationships and to discuss the latest developments in shale gas and tight oil production across the region.
